During my career as a concert artist I gave lectures and masterclasses at countless state and division music teachers conventions and was twice Featured Artist at the national convention of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association).

In the Portland area where I returned regularly, I am proud to have had a roll in the study of many prominent piano teachers.

My aim as a piano teacher of all levels and ages is to guide the student to a deep and lasting personal relationship to the world of music. I have often said "when they don't need me any more I have done my job". To this end my emphasis is on fundamentals, to help the student form good long-term habits and make practice and performance a happy and exciting experience.

For piano students aspiring to serious college level study, competitions, or even professional career aspiration I am uniquely qualified to provide this level of training. My students have won prizes in major competitions, serve on college and university faculties, and perform as recital soloists and with major orchestras.
