Aaron Petit began studying piano at age 12. Having no previous musical instruction, his interest in the great composers was fostered through several “living history museums" at which Aaron entertained audiences by impersonating Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Victor Borge. He completed the MTNA Piano Syllabus level 10 in the first 2.5 years of his studies.

Aaron was gold medalist at the Cascades Classical Music Foundation competition three years running, and was awarded overall grand prize in 2013. In May 2014, Aaron was awarded 1st runner up in the Seattle Philharmonic Young Artists Don Bushell concerto competition and earned special recognition in the soloist division of Seattle Young Artists Music Festival Association in March 2014.

He made his orchestral debut at age 15 with the YMA Orchestra at Willamette University playing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1. In 2014, he was commissioned as a concert soloist to play Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with the Pierce College Symphonic Band.

In the past 3 years, Aaron has been privileged to play for more than two dozen renowned pianists including Dean Kramer, Josh Wright, Elisabeth Joy Roe, Vadym Kholodenko,  Nelita True, William Chapman Nyaho, Paul Roberts, Daniel Pollack, and John Perry in private lessons and masterclasses throughout the U.S.

Aaron studied at the Colburn School: Young Artists Academy in Los Angeles during the fall term of his senior year. His full time teachers have included Peter Brownlee of Bend, Oregon; Mark Salman of Seattle; and currently, Mark Westcott of Portland, Oregon.

Aaron's long term ambition is to help the public relate to classical music and share the love he has for the arts through teaching and performing.
